Nationalist Party

The Nationalist Party (Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is a Christian-democratic and centre-right political party in Malta. Formed in 1926 from the merger of the Maltese Political Union and the Democratic Nationalist Party, PN traces its roots back to Fortunato Mizzi's 1880 Anti-Reform Party. It led Malta into European Union membership in 2004 under Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami and is currently the main opposition party in the House of Representatives, led by Alex Borg with Alex Perici Calascione as deputy leader.
